Baby Shower Scrapbooking Idea

The Baby Shower Scrapbooking idea may not be a new idea but I have never heard of anyone doing this before.

Baby showers are a great way to get gifts and visit with your close friends and family. Most of the gifts you receive at your baby shower are very useful. However, many of these gifts are long gone within a couple of years of the birth. Why not incorporate a new idea into the baby shower. Be creative and create a memory that will last for many years. A Scrapbook that is made by friends and family members is created and given as a gift at the baby shower. The following steps walk you through my Baby Shower Scrapbooking Idea.

1. Make a list of all of the items that you will need for the scrapbook. Here is the beginning of the list to get you started.

A Scrapbook Album (Baby Theme Cover if possible)Cutting Tools (Include Scissors and Knives)Stickers and Embellishments (Invitations should be included)Digital CameraAdhesiveLayout/Background PaperLaptop Photo PrinterQuality Photo Paper** Remember Acid Free Supplies **

There are many other items that you can include to make the scrapbook great.

2. Get everyone involved in this creative baby shower. Include in the invitations a reference to the scrapbooking event that will be part of the baby shower. Ask the invites to be a part of this event by bringing in scrapbooking supplies. Have them contact the coordinator of the shower to let them know what they will be able to supply.

3. Several days before the shower, review the list of needs and compare to what everyone has volunteered to bring with them. You can contact others to see if they will bring in the rest of the supplies or you can go out and purchase the supplies to make sure you are not missing anything.

4. Plan 30 to 45 minutes for Scrapbooking.

5. You want to get about 10 pages created at the shower. So, depending on how many people are at the party you may want to partner up on creating the pages.

6. The first page should feature Mom before she started showing. The next few pages should feature Mom at a few different stages of her pregnancy. If she had a sonogram and you can get on of the pictures, you should have someone create a sonogram page. The idea is to work up to the 7th page with pages containing Moms pregnancy. Pages 7-10 should be set up as layouts only with sayings such as "It's a Girl" or "Babies First Steps"

7. By the way, MOM can not look at the pages as everyone is working on the scrapbook. MOM will be working on the page that will feature the pictures of her labor or just after labor.

8. After all of the pages are complete, place them in the album in the order they should appear.

9. Give the album to MOM and give her time to look at each page.

10. After MOM has looked through the entire album, tell her it is time to pick the very best scrapbook layout. The winners will get a door prize gift for creating the best page.

11. Take a group photo with MOM in front holding the album. Make sure to give mom an 8x10 of this photo to place in her scrapbook. The laptop and printer is for this step.
