All of the items in the image above would have been put in the trash. I saved them and will use these in a Scrapbook Layout Hannah Montana Theme for my daughter.
The fist item is packaging from toys and other items that you purchase from the store. My daughter had a Birthday party last week and she received many different types of gifts. Most of her gifts were related to her favorite artist, Hannah Montana. Here is what we did. We kept all of the packages that the items came in. I'm not talking about the box that the gift was packed in. I am talking about the display pack as it sits on the store shelf. There were many pictures of Hannah as well as the signature logo for her label. All of these packages will go toward a Hannah Montana theme page in my daughters scrapbook. We will also use some of these items in her 9th birthday scrapbooking theme. I will not go in to all of the details here. However, you will want to watch the first episode of
Cherish Creative Scrapbooking
with Teresa and Scrapbook Betty. We will take you step by step in converting these items into a beautiful creative scrapbook page.

Next you will focus on the gift wrap from Birthday's and other holidays in which you and your children receive gifts. Keep these items stored in an area out of the way. They will come in handy as you create more scrapbooking themes.

Gift bags are another item that come in very handy when scrapbooking. For example, my daughter received one of her gifts in a bag that looked like a purse. It is pink with black poka-dots and will go perfectly on a pink themed page. I will trim the size down and create shapes or boarders for the page and best of all, at no cost to me.
Ok, this one is really going to shock you! Go to your pantry and take a look around. Our kids eat cereals, pop tarts, and other snacks that have characters printed on them that they relate with. It is a marketing ploy to get them to ask you to purchase the product. It is also a perfect opportunity for you to save some money on scrapbooking. Here is what I do. I purchase the products that feature a cartoon character or an artist that my children like. There is no price difference, these are the products we purchase anyway. For instance, Barbie and hot wheels are often featured on cereal boxes. This is a perfect opportunity for me to get some free scrapbook images free. You simply cut the pictures out and place a boarder of black or gray behind the picture with a slight offset to look like a shadow. I will be reviewing this in a future episode of Cherish Creative Scrapbooking as well. So, keep checking back or subscribe to my blog for updates of when these show will be aired.Well these are my free scrapbooking ideas for the day. I hope that these ideas get you thinking about other ways o save money on your scrapbook projects. If you have any other ideas, we would love to hear from you. We would also like to feature your idea on Cherish-Creative-Scrapbooking.com and we may even feature your idea in our web cast. Until next time, Happy Scrappin Teresa and Betty
