Scrapbook Theme Ideas and Tips

Why is it so important to use a theme when creating a scrapbook page? Using a theme really helps in bringing the photos together. It helps in several ways. When your scrapbook is being viewed years down the road, the scrapbook themes help in sparking the emotions felt at the time the pictures were taken. Think about a fourth of July page that has a yellow background with 3 pictures on it from a fourth of July event. When you look at this page, it would appear as a simple page with some pictures on it. You may not even remember that the pictures were from a 4th of July celebration. Now picture this... You have the same pictures but you are going to put a theme to them. You use a blue background with 3 white stars at the top left of the page. You place the stars in an arch form at the top left. The bottom right has a burst of flaming fireworks shooting toward the center of the page slightly overlapping the picture in the center of the page. You place one picture toward the top right of the page and one on the left bottom of the page and you add some text exclaiming "Happy 4th of July". You have now created a page that will capture the moment. When you look at the page, you will be taken back to the day of the celebration. When you add life to your scrapbook pages by using a theme you bring back the emotions of the event and make it fun to look at the scrapbook pages in the future.

When Jordon looks back at this scrapbook years latter, the emotions she will experience when looking at this page will take her back to this day and time. It will take her back to her softball years and make her think of the games she played, the friends she had and the great times she had. True you get some of these feelings anyway when looking back at pictures from your past. However, a themed scrapbook page will intensify these feelings.
